The University of Maryland Medical Center’s R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore honored 51 medical professionals and first responders who helped save the life of a Montgomery County teenager who was critically injured in a 2024 shooting.
The recognition took place during the annual “One Maryland One Shock Trauma” event, which highlights the coordinated efforts of Maryland’s trauma care system.
The teen, now an 18-year-old student at Northwest High School, suffered severe injuries and multiple organ failure after being shot at a party in August 2024. He required extensive medical treatment, including numerous surgeries, large volumes of blood transfusions, and advanced life-support care before being stabilized.
