BALTIMORE, MD—Maryland’s nonfarm payrolls expanded by an estimated 2,800 jobs in April, continuing a period of steady growth that has outpaced national economic trends since the start of the year, state officials announced last week.
The new data, released by the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics, arrived alongside an upward revision to March’s preliminary employment figures. Government economists adjusted March’s job growth upward by 2,100 positions, bringing the total gains for that month to 5,300 jobs.
