ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Residents across western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina should keep an eye on the sky today. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the region under a level 1 out of 5 risk for severe thunderstorms Monday afternoon and evening.
While a widespread outbreak is not expected locally, the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg notes in its latest morning discussion that scattered storms will develop. Some storms could be stronger, and damaging wind gusts and hail could be possible with any severe development today.
