Sarge’s Animal Rescue launches fundraising campaign for $2.2M in renovations

HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation has launched a capital campaign aimed at expanding and improving its facility in Haywood County.

The campaign, called “Tails of Tomorrow,” is intended to support upgrades and renovations at the nonprofit animal rescue. The organization has already raised $1 million, which was used to purchase the building it currently occupies. It is now working to secure $2.2 million for renovations.

“We need indoor-outdoor runs for the dogs. We need vertical condos for our cats. We need drains in the floor. We need hose fixtures. We need all sorts of that,” Executive Director Windy McKinney said. “We’re just trying to expand our footprint a little bit and do more good work in Haywood County and western North Carolina.”…
