SBI arrests former Madison Co. chief deputy for criminal activity involving inmates, staff

MADISON COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation has announced that it has arrested the former Madison County Sheriff’s Deputy.

According to a social media post, the SBI announced the arrest of Madison County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy, Bronis Coy Phillips, on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges following alleged criminal activity involving inmates and detention facility staff.
