Asheville police increase enforcement under new ‘Downtown Plan’ safety initiative

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Asheville police are stepping up enforcement downtown after complaints from business owners, residents and visitors about quality-of-life concerns and the impacts on local businesses.

Two months after the Asheville Police Department’s “Downtown Plan” began, officials say they are seeing changes in both police presence and enforcement as the department evaluates its impact.
