WAYNESVILLE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – Waynesville Parks & Recreation is warning the public that E. coli has been found in a portion of Richland Creek.
According to officials, the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality was doing routine water quality monitoring when it found high levels of E. coli in Richland Creek near Vance Street Park.
Visitors are asked not to swim in the creek at this time. Children and pets should not swim or drink from the creek either, officials said…
