BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — A 45-year-old woman who was found dead on a Buncombe County road last week was hit and killed by a vehicle, according to the results of a preliminary autopsy.
Just before 7 a.m. on Friday, July 10, a passerby saw the woman’s body on Old Mars Hill Highway near the Madison County line and called 911. Authorities with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the area, stating that the woman showed obvious signs of injury.
