ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The American Red Cross is facing an emergency blood shortage and is urging people to donate blood as soon as possible to help protect patient care.
The organization says a steep decline in blood donations since the end of May has created a growing gap between the nation’s blood supply and patient need. In June alone, the blood supply fell nearly 25%.
