Hendersonville families can cool off with a free Community Splash Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at Sullivan Park, 712 Martin Circle. The three-hour city event is open to the public and will combine water activities, children’s refreshments and a small street festival with community organizations.
A section of Ashe Street between Martin Circle and Parkview Drive will become the event’s Splash Zone. Hendersonville Fire and Water department crews will provide spraying fire trucks and other water activities for children and families throughout the morning and early afternoon.
Several city departments are coordinating the event. Public Works will assist with site setup, and the Hendersonville Police Department will help maintain a safe environment around the park and the temporarily closed street while fire and water crews operate the Splash Zone…
