ASHEVILLE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Asheville Police Department reported an officer-involved shooting that resulted in the death of a suspect early Wednesday.
Police said they responded around 1:57 a.m. to a business located at 38 North French Broad Avenue for a report of a person discharging a firearm in the parking lot. Upon arrival, they heard gunfire and located the suspect in the parking lot of the business, actively discharging a firearm. Officers returned fire, striking the suspect.
Asheville Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the suspect dead, according to officials. No officers were injured during the incident.
