HENDERSONVILLE – Dozens of people filled the Henderson County Board of Commissioners chambers July 15 to throw their support behind a proposed ballot initiative that could put $25 million toward the county’s fledgling farmland preservation program.
The board voted unanimously to pursue putting a general obligation bond on the Nov. 3 ballot which, if approved, would allow the county to pay farmers and other landowners to voluntarily put protections on their property and keep it from ever being built on.
