HENDERSONVILLE – There are 828 new affordable housing units coming to the 828 area code, 132 of them in Hendersonville, Gov. Josh Stein announced Aug. 25 at a press conference at the Oklawaha Village apartment complex.
Hendersonville’s nonprofit Housing Assistance Corporation, which develops affordable housing, is set to receive $2.9 million to fund its Meadowcrest apartment complex under the Rental Production Program for Disaster Recovery.
That comes as part of $69 million in disaster recovery grants from the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency for 10 affordable rental housing projects across Buncombe, Cleveland, Caldwell, Rutherford, Haywood, Watauga, Burke, Transylvania and Ashe counties, according to an Aug. 25 Governor’s Office news release…
