ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — As the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center approaches, Asheville and Weaverville will host memorial ceremonies to honor lives lost during the tragedy.
The Asheville Fire Department and Asheville Police Department will hold their annual memorial service on Sept. 11, 2026, outside of the Asheville Municipal Building, 100 Court Plaza, Asheville, N.C.
“We are planing to hold a memorial service per usual outside of the municipal building downtown. We are planning to have speakers for AFD, APD and the city manager’s office,” said John Harbin, communication specialist for the Asheville Fire Department. “There may be more as our planning continues but that’s where we are at this time.”…
