A rumor that musician Ted Nugent sent $2 million worth of heavy machinery to Chimney Rock, North Carolina, following Hurricane Helene circulated online in October 2024. A Facebook post by America’s Last Line of Defense Facebook claimed the musician said, “They can keep it as long as they need it.” The post added, “Not all heroes wear capes.”

One person shared the post and wrote , “A true hero.” Another user who shared the claim added , “More people like him should be doing this.”

An article by the Dunning-Kruger Times expanded on the claim, adding:

Ted Nugent has really come through for the people of Chimney Rock. According to sources near Wichita, The Nuge is sending $2 million worth of heavy equipment from his ranches in Montana, Upstate New York, and Iceland to help rebuild the roads in and out of town.

“He’s sending 11 excavators, 14 tractors, and a push mower,” said the guy from Witchita who told us the story, “He’s also lending them a half-dozen beluga whales from the Iceland ranch. He doesn’t really own them, but they are his friends.”
