ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Asheville is poised to get its first public pickleball complex, and city leaders are seeking public comment on potential site locations.
A city spokesperson said Asheville Parks & Recreation (APR) identified Aston Park and Roger Farmer Park as potential locations for the 8- to 10-court complex.
City leaders said using existing park land maximizes bond investments without having to buy new land. The final site will be selected by the end of summer, the city said.
Three drop-in sessions are scheduled at the end of the month, where neighbors, “picklers,” and other park users are encouraged to share their thoughts:
- Monday, April 27: Roger Farmer Park, 71 Deaverview Road, from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 28: Aston Park, 300 Hilliard Ave., from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 28: Asheville Sports Club, 137 Coxe Ave., from 4:30-7 p.m., featuring free open-play pickleball
