Cold Sunday night, sunny and slightly warmer Monday ahead

Clouds continue to clear through Sunday night, winds die down, and temperatures will feel chilly. By Monday morning, low temperatures will be in the mid to lower 40s in the Upstate, and upper 30s in the mountains. There is slight a chance for frost as well with a freeze watch in place for Mitchell and Yancey counties.

The breeze picks up again through Monday afternoon, but plenty of sunshine sticks around through the day. Temperatures will be running slightly warmer with highs in the mid to lower 70s for the Upstate, and mid to upper 60s for the mountains.

Conditions are sunny and dry through the work week and temperatures will gradually warm to above normal by the end of the week. Another cold front is expected sometime next weekend that could provide some more rain…
