ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A first-ever mountain concert series featuring 32 pianists performing 32 piano sonatas is underway to celebrate the bicentennial of classical composer Ludwig van Beethoven — and there’s still time to get a ticket.
Longtime University of North Carolina Asheville music teacher Dr. Hwa-Jin Kim organized the event. She recently retired from her post at UNCA and has now founded Sonare Music Academy.
The event kicked off Sunday night and includes concerts at the Piano Emporium in Asheville and Freeburg Pianos in Hendersonville through Saturday, April 25.
