VOTE: Help choose what will go on massive mural at Pack Memorial Library

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A large-scale mural is set to be installed at Pack Memorial Library, and county leaders want the public to help choose the final design.

Buncombe County Government said the project is part of Paint NC, a statewide public art initiative that aims to create 100 murals in 100 counties across North Carolina. In Buncombe County, the project will take the form of more than 3,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor mural work at the downtown Asheville library.

County staff have already voted on the top three designs for the mural, all of which include images of local plants and animals, as well as the Blue Ridge Parkway and the French Broad River.

The public is invited to weigh in on the final choice by voting online at buncombecounty.org or in person at the library. Voting is open until May 1, 2026…
