Transylvania County Schools drops 10 extra minutes from school day after feedback

TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — After Transylvania County Schools added 10 minutes to its school days to make up for lost in-person instruction due to weather, the district announced it would end the schedule change for the remainder of the year.

The school district said the Board of Education voted to remove the extra 10 minutes from the school day, effective Monday, April 27. Plans to implement the additional instruction time during the 2026-27 school year were also put on hold.
