Jerry Herndon, 53, of Marietta, is accused of burglarizing room number 130 of the Comfort Inn and Suites Hotel at 2800 Highlands Parkway SE in Smyrna, on May 19 at 6:28 a.m., according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department.
Herndon was found asleep inside the room by police and arrested. Upon searching his belongings, two towels and two bottles of lotion were found inside his book bag. Herndon, who did not pay for a room at the hotel, damaged three window screens to get inside hotel rooms 128 and 130. Police observed all three damaged screens on the ground outside the rooms.
Herndon is charged with burglary – second degree; criminal damage – second degree; obstruction/hindering law enforcement; and criminal trespass unlawful purpose. He was arrested May 19 at 6:43 a.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records…
