ATLANTA, GA — Recent rain across Georgia brought some relief, but it has not been enough to erase dry conditions, according to the latest forecast from the FOX 5 Atlanta Storm Team. Some parts of North Georgia picked up a little more rain than others, while areas tied to wildfire concerns saw very little meaningful rainfall.
Metro Atlanta should start the week with mild, pleasant weather on Monday, featuring a mix of sun and clouds and comfortable temperatures.
The Dry Spell
Forecasters said rain over the past few days has been uneven across the state, leaving some areas short of the moisture needed to make a real dent in the dryness. That uneven pattern has kept wildfire concerns in place.
Officials with the Georgia Forestry Commission say fires in parts of the state have grown. One wildfire in Brantley County is still only about 7% contained.
