The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory across cities in metro Atlanta and several other Georgia regions on Monday from noon to 8 p.m.
According to the Peachtree City-based service, heat index values are expected to hit between 105 and 109 degrees.
Portions of Central, East Central, North Central, Northeast, Northwest, Southeast and West Central Georgia are currently under surveillance.
