ATLANTA, GA — A woman who stopped after a deadly crash on Interstate 75 southbound in Atlanta said she watched bystanders try to save the life of one of the motorcycle riders before paramedics arrived. Eva Murray said she saw a burst of fire and then two bodies on the roadway Friday night near the Mount Paran Road exit.
The crash killed 27-year-old Amanda Tanks and injured 36-year-old Torrey McClary, who was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. A Toyota Camry driver was also involved but was not hurt.
How It Happened
Murray said she and her husband were driving toward their home in Henry County when two motorcycles sped past them. Seconds later, she said, she saw what looked like a huge fireball and pulled over right away.
She called 911 and ran toward the wreckage, telling dispatchers there were bodies on the road and help was needed immediately. Her account describes a fast-moving crash that unfolded in a matter of seconds on the southbound lanes.
