Late-Night Dirt-Bike Crash on Jonesboro Road Leaves Atlanta Rider Dead

A Saturday night ride in southeast Atlanta ended in tragedy when a 28-year-old man was killed after his dirt bike collided with a tow truck near the intersection of Jonesboro Road and Harriett Street SE, according to police. Officers were called to the scene shortly after 10:30 p.m., where the rider was pronounced dead.

What Police Say

Investigators say a tow truck was heading south on Jonesboro Road and making a left turn onto Harriett Street when the dirt bike, traveling north, lost control and slid underneath the truck, Atlanta News First reports. The tow truck driver stayed at the scene, and police say no charges have been filed at this time as detectives work to piece together what happened.
