Sheriff’s office highlights permit rules at unauthorized events

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is warning promoters, vendors and organizers that events held on county-owned property without required permits may be shut down immediately.

The agency says unpermitted events could also lead to criminal citations and other violations.

In a public notice, the agency said permitting helps ensure public safety, adequate security, emergency access and traffic coordination, and compliance with health, business licensing and alcohol rules…
