Savannah Rapids Pavilion: $11.4M renovation, reopens 2027

EVANS, Ga (WJBF)- The Savannah Rapids Pavilion has remained closed for almost two years following damage from Hurricane Helene and county leaders says progress is being made to a grand opening in 2027.

In September 2024 Category 4, Hurricane Helene, has caused extreme damaged along the southeast of the country causing extreme damage, specifically to the CSRA. With the Rapids Pavilion being alongside the Savannah River, damage has caused families and the community to pivot to different alternatives for events.

Columbia County leaders have approved an $11.4 million construction contract award to rebuild the popular venue. The project has also been funded through insurance add-ons, which allows officials to expand the repairs and bring better improvements for the community…
