A 54-year-old South Carolina man was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison after traveling more than 700 miles to Ohio, believing he was meeting a 7-year-old girl for sex.
U.S. District Judge Jeffrey J. Helmick handed down the 240-month sentence to Edward Wade Green of Aiken, South Carolina. Green pleaded guilty in March 2024 to coercion or enticement of a minor, traveling with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor, transportation of child sexual abuse material, and possession of child sexual abuse material.
