AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) – Animal shelters across the two-state are taking in record numbers of adoptable pets. This weekend a special event at the is aimed at finding homes for as many of them as possible while clearing room at the shelters to save more lives.
“We have so many animals at the shelter,” said Kathy Cagle, Programs Coordinator for Friends Of The Animal Shelter (FOTAS), a non-profit that supports the shelter’s efforts. “We’ve taken in more than 420 this month.
“It’s a time when people are forgetting about adopting. They’re back in school and they’re busy, but our intake is busier. So, we need to find homes for these guys because we’re out of space.”…
