AUGUSTA, Ga (WJBF)- Back to school traffic is a challenge for many families in Richmond County. With school being in session, T.H. Garrett Elementary School families and staff are being impacted by the construction in the community.
This Wednesday, families have arrived at Garrett Elementary while also dealing with road problems to drop their children off. A detour is in place by the school due to Augusta Utilities continuing working on a water main replacement project.
This original route had drivers coming from Washington Road, onto Magnolia Drive, and then onto Apricot Lane. For parents, this detour could possibly lead to longer mornings and dealing with complicated road construction…
