AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF)– The 2nd annual Road to Healthy charity golf tournament is coming up Monday, September 14th, at Belle Meade Country Club in Thomson, GA. It benefits MAP, whose mission is to provide quality, affordable and accessible healthcare to uninsured and under-insured patients.
Medical Associates Plus (MAP) serves more than 50,000 patients in South Augusta and beyond. It began back in 1993 as a grassroots collaborative partnership between then University Hospital, Richmond County Health Department, and the Richmond County Commission. The goal was to improve indigent care in the county. At the time, it was known as Bell Terrace Health & Wellness.
Today, MAP serves patients across 27 fixed locations and two mobile health units…
