Saturday night update: Expect quiet, but humid conditions the rest of tonight with overnight lows in the mid to upper 70s. Patchy fog is possible as we get towards daybreak, especially if you saw rain on Saturday.
Sunday looks like a classic late summer day in the CSRA. We’ll start out with a mix of clouds and sunshine, and once the afternoon heat gets going, scattered showers and thunderstorms should develop. This does not look like an all-day rain event, and it’s definitely not a washout, but there should be enough moisture and instability in place for hit-or-miss storms to pop up during the afternoon and evening. Any storm that forms could briefly produce gusty winds, heavy rain, & frequent lightning
Temperatures will still climb into the upper 90s, so even with storm chances around, it’ll be another very hot and humid day. Heat index values will likely push well above 100 degrees in many spots before storms begin developing. A heat advisory remains in place through 8 p.m. Sunday…
