Georgia AG Chris Carr hosts law enforcement roundtable in Columbia County

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr hosted a law enforcement roundtable in Columbia County on Wednesday.

Carr met with them to discuss public safety issues, including contraband cell phones, unauthorized drones, human trafficking and violent crime.

“If you start looking at domestic terrorism, human trafficking, gangs, organized theft, these are unfortunately crimes that don’t often stay to one city or one county,” Carr said. “These are regional or statewide in nature. Human trafficking for example, very transient. You’ve got folks that will be in Augusta today, Macon tomorrow, and Atlanta the next day. SO, to have a state unit that’s dealing with all those issues matters. but also, because these crimes are being committed at the local level, you want to have local involvement too.”…
