AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Steven Kendrick is running for mayor again, saying Augusta needs different leadership and pointing to his record as tax commissioner as proof he can deliver results.
Kendrick ran for mayor in 2022 and lost in a runoff against Mayor Garnett Johnson. He said his time since then has shown him the city continues to struggle.
“I think Augusta is in need of a different kind, type of leadership,” Kendrick said. “We haven’t had any demonstrated accomplishments that show we can help people in East Augusta with the things they have as a problem. We can deliver economic development to South Augusta the way they really need it. We can deliver better programming to our recreation departments for kids the way people need it.”…
