Severe weather threat looms over Denver area heading into a busy weekend

DENVER — Denver-area residents should prepare for the possibility of strong storms beginning Friday afternoon with an elevated risk persisting into Saturday — particularly across the northeastern plains and areas north and east of the city.

The 9NEWS Weather Impact Team identified hail as the main threat with scattered, stronger cells that form, along with possible gusty winds, lightning, and localized downpours among the hazards.
