University of Denver to combine some schools, close 5 departments

DENVER — The University of Denver announced plans for an academic restructuring that will unfold over the next school year. The plans include merging certain colleges and schools to create two new schools within DU, and closing some departments.

The Graduate School of Social Work, the Graduate School of Professional Psychology and the Morgridge College of Education will combine to form one new college focused on education and behavioral and clinical sciences.

The Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science will also merge with the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the Kinesiology and Sport Studies program to create a new college…
