Suspected hit-and-run driver found eating watermelon out of stranger’s fridge

DENVER (KDVR) — A suspect in a DUI wrong-way crash was arrested after allegedly fleeing to a nearby home and was found eating watermelon from a stranger’s fridge in Lone Tree.

On June 2 around 10 a.m., the Lone Tree Police Department said it responded to a hit-and-run crash with a wrong-way driver on Lincoln Avenue. Police were able to track down the suspect, but he wasn’t necessarily hiding.

A witness reported seeing the suspect hit another vehicle and drive off. Police said the suspect drove to a home and went inside. At first, police said the homeowner thought it was a worker who was doing construction on their home…
