A Denver Police officer accused of leading a Colorado State trooper on a pursuit reached speeds of over 100 mph was sentenced to probation during a hearing Monday morning.
Christopher Thomas was arrested in December in Jefferson County. Following his arrest, Denver Police said he was suspended without pay. On Monday, a department spokesperson said Thomas was working in an “offline assignment” and would remain in that role until the completion of an internal review.
In April, Thomas pleaded guilty to charges of DUI and eluding a police officer. Other charges including reckless driving and reckless endangerment were dismissed as part of the deal. Monday morning, Thomas was sentenced to two years of probation and 48 hours of community service for the DUI charge and was ordered to pay $150 fine for the eluding charge…
