Mother gives update on daughter dragged by alleged drunk driver in LoDo

DENVER (KDVR) — The mother of a woman, hit and dragged by an alleged drunk driver in Lower Downtown Denver, says her daughter is “doing better.”

Lea Lopez says her daughter, Bella Gomez, remains in an intensive care unit at a local hospital, with injuries to her ribs, pelvis and spleen. She will also, eventually, require skin grafts.

“She’s just a beautiful soul,” Lopez said. “She’s our princess.”

Denver Police say in the early morning hours of June 14, 56-year-old Cesario Cerrato showed signs of driving under the influence and hit the 21-year-old Gomez, and two of her friends.  Those 2 other females are expected to be OK…
