Brush fires cause lane closures on SB I-25 in Castle Pines

DENVER (KDVR) — Southbound Interstate 25 in Castle Pines has reopened after two brush fires broke out in the area Sunday afternoon.

South Metro Fire Rescue initially reported crews were responding to a brush fire in the area of southbound I-25 and Castle Pines Parkway.

However, SMFR said in an update at 3:11 p.m. that two separate fires broke out near each other on the west side of I-25.

SMFR said the fires were successfully contained at 3:47 p.m.

The two right lanes on southbound I-25 from RidgeGate Parkway to Castle Pines Parkway were closed due to the fires. The roadway has since reopened…
