A 17-year-old driver who was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash June 28 at South Havana Street and East Alameda Avenue has died, Aurora police said.
The crash occurred about 4:22 a.m. June 28, roughly 10 minutes after Aurora patrol officers located a suspected stolen Volkswagen near East Mississippi Avenue and East Alameda Parkway.
Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the driver did not stop. Police authorized a brief pursuit that lasted about one minute before it was terminated because of the vehicle’s excessive speed and the driver’s behavior…
