DENVER (KDVR) — An 18-year-old might be facing charges after she was rescued from an abandoned missile silo near the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds on Wednesday morning.
Around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said an 18-year-old girl climbed down the ladder of an abandoned missile silo on private property, then got stuck 50 to 60 feet down. Two other teens who were with her, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old, were able to get out and call 911.

South Metro Fire Rescue and the sheriff’s office responded to 25690 E Quincy Ave, where the girl was rescued after about 30 minutes and sent to the hospital for further evaluation.
This wasn’t the first time someone was rescued from an abandoned missile silo. The sheriff’s office said this was the third rescue at an abandoned missile silo in the last few years.
