Just two days after breaking a ‘daily high’ temperature record that stood for 148 years, Denver has tied a long-standing ‘daily low’ temperature record as a cold front moves through.
According to the National Weather Service, the temperature in the Mile High City climbed to 102 degrees on August 3. The sweltering heat topped a temperature record for the date of 100 degrees, measured on August 3, 1878.
The heat didn’t stick around for long though, with the city dropping to just 48 degrees on the morning of August 5. This tied a record for the record low temperature for the date, which was first recorded on August 5, 1978…
