Law enforcement may have caught a break in a fatal hit-and-run case that involved the death of a cyclist in Aurora.
The crash reportedly took place on July 26, just after 12 a.m., with the driver of a white Subaru Outback allegedly striking a cyclist who was riding southbound on South Powhaton Road, just north of East Jewell Avenue. Following the collision, the Subaru reportedly left the scene, with the cyclist not found until the next morning, on July 27. The cyclist ultimately succumbed to wounds that were sustained.
In a previous press release from the Aurora Police Department about the case, authorities asked the public to be on the lookout for the suspect vehicle, which was believed to have damage to its front passenger side headlight and hood, as well as a potentially missing passenger side fog light.
