LAKEWOOD, Colo. (KDVR) – A Denver man was honored by Lakewood firefighters for catching a 4-year-old girl who had dropped from a second-story window.
Tuesday, Caliel Rodriguez received the West Metro Fire Protection District “Citizen Award” for his heroic efforts.
Rodriguez, 23, says on July 23, he initially saw the young girl attempting to get out of the window at an apartment complex on Wadsworth Boulevard. He immediately called 911.

He says within 10 minutes, the girl had made it completely outside of the window and dropped. Rodriguez quickly responded and was safely able to catch her…
