Shilo Sanders walked into a Denver bankruptcy courtroom Monday wearing a dark suit. He’d released a new rap album just one day earlier, with a track called ‘Go Out Swinging’. The title turned out to be fitting, though not in the way anyone hoped for him.
Sanders, the son of Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, is trying to wipe out more than $11 million in debt. The debt traces back to a 2015 incident at his Dallas high school. He didn’t testify on the opening day of trial. But four witnesses did, appearing through prerecorded depositions. Their accounts left little room for a sympathetic read of what happened.
