‘Free’ recycling expands in Denver Tuesday — but not for everyone

Recycling is coming to more Denver doorsteps starting Tuesday — but “free” depends on which doorstep is yours.

Here’s what you need to know.

The “universal” recycling and composting ordinance applies to:

  • Multi-family residential buildings like apartments and condos
  • Manufactured home communities, such as mobile home parks
  • Congregate living or boarding homes, think housing co-ops
  • Restaurants and permitted events
  • Recycling for nonresidential buildings, construction and demolition projects

The ordinance does not apply to townhomes or rowhomes with a Denver Solid Waste Management account…
