A former student of a Lakewood charter school filed a federal civil lawsuit Wednesday claiming that the school failed to prevent and take action after students repeatedly harassed him because of his race.
Jaylen Davis, who is Black, was a sophomore at Addenbrooke Classical Academy in 2025, when students began making racial comments and mocking him with stereotypes. Students also allegedly touched him and his hair without consent, before it escalated further into threats, the lawsuit alleges.
