Victim identified in Aurora fatal shooting

The Arapahoe County Coroner identified the victim of a fatal Aurora shooting amidst an ongoing investigation by the police department.

Aurora officers responded to a call reporting an injured adult male around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 18000 block of East Kentucky Avenue, according to a news release from the department.

Investigators found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital and later died early Wednesday morning.

The coroner’s office identified the man as 36-year-old Blas Anthony Nieto. They ruled the manner of death a homicide. The incident is being investigated by the Aurora Police Department Major Crime Homicide Unit.

Suspect information is not available at this time. The investigation is active and ongoing, according to the police department.
