New details reveal what led up to deadly Curtis Park shooting

DENVER (KDVR) — New details are shedding light on a deadly shooting that happened April 9 in the 1100 block of 32nd Street near Curtis Park in Denver.

Police said the situation began just before 1 p.m. with a violent disturbance involving a pregnant woman and a man with a gun. Investigators said the situation escalated quickly, with multiple 911 calls reporting a fight and shots being fired in the area.

According to investigators, the suspect later returned outside and approached a man, identified by family as Alex Rainer, who was walking his dog in the neighborhood. Rainer was shot and killed at the scene.
